I was thinking the other day, about the benefits of recycling, and how the negative experiences we go through in life are sort of similar to a recycling plant. The definition of recycle is to convert waste into reusable material; and a recycling plant is where this material that has been thrown out as “no longer useful” is changed into something new that is valuable.
Thinking about my own life, I have made an attempt to establish an online presence in the past, and that was not very successful. I have also written books in the past which did not have a high sales volume. And there’s probably a myriad of other projects I have put my efforts into that may have been considered a failure…or were they?
Far from being a waste, the experience that I gained from trying to build my online presence previously has equipped me to do a better job of it now. I can put into practice some of the things I learned then, to be better at it now.
And the experience that I gained from publishing my previous books will help my next books do better; and it will also help me sail faster through the entire process, after having been down that road before.
How about you? Think about a project or experience in your past that may have been considered a failure; can you think of ways in which this experience has benefited or is benefiting you now? Please share with us.
